February 7th is a "National Holiday" that has some eery similarities to Jazz Handing. The holiday has you addressing your neighbors by waving every one of your fingers at them. We can not utter the name of the holiday, specifically, due to legal constraints as per the request of the individual(s) responsible for its origination and subsequent copyright.
Personally, I believe that copyrighting the name of a national holiday for financial gain is an abomination. To Ruth and Thomas Roy of Wellcat Holidays, I say SHENANIGANS! You have destroyed the soul of this holiday before anyone even cared of its existence.
To that I pronounce February 7th "Global Jazz Hands Day." No, this isn't merely a national holiday...this bitch is international. We have reader(s) in South America, North America and Europe, with a combination of seven EIGHT different countries tuning in and potentially expanding as we speak.
You may refer to this global holiday in any way, shape or form for profit, not for profit, for gain of happiness, for gain of goofiness, or for no reason at all. You do not need permission, written or expressed from anyone...especially me. I do not own a copyright nor will I pursue one. If anyone ever does attain a copyright, let this document show, on the 7th day of February in the year 2013, that I give myself legal authority to use and exploit this national holiday for all eternity and also allow anyone in the free world to do so as well.
By the power vested in me, I now officially pronounce this day Global Jazz Hands Day...if for no other reason than to stick it to Ruth and Thomas Roy for being greedy, holiday hoarding money mongers. How dare they attempt to turn a beautiful idea of a holiday into a commercial venture for monetary gain. Their holiday, which we may not call by name, is a fraud.
And without further ado, here's our Global Jazz Hands Day mascot, copyright permission notwithstanding (let it be known that this legal binding document also allows the use of the image, which, of course, would be upheld in any court of this great planet):
So give someone you know, or don't know Jazz Hands today to commemorate the day, in whatever nation you call home. Let me know how that goes...I'd love to hear about it.
Day thirty-eight complete.
PS: If anyone has any really good Valentine's Day gift ideas, let me know...it's coming up quick!
