"We are all destined to fail at some point."
Jazz Hands seemed to have found its swagger in March, hitting their stride somewhere around day eighty-two. One of the early references to both life being a game and of course, mortality, the big questions really began to crop up. Pops died, and came back as a ghost...leading this author to question overall existence and the roles we play in life.
Month one found us exploring Jazz Hands in general, month two seemed to push the boundaries of what Jazz Hands really were and by month number three, deviation really took a stronghold finding a groove within the "Royal Jazz Hands" realm with fewer references to the physical act of hand jazzing.
March excerpt:
"If I get to December 31st of this year, and have not perfected Jazz Hands, does that make me a failure? While there are many days to go, 283 to be exact, I like to believe that the quest will be rewarding, enlightening and most significantly, meaningful in ways perhaps I don't even understand this early in the game."
Here we are on December 21st, 10 days remaining, I have learned many things along this journey. I have grown an appreciation for a glass of scotch on the rocks, which has nothing to do with anything, and is a bit of a non sequitur...but aside from that I have learned how fast moving time really is and that I have definitely NOT perfected hand jazzing. Scrutinizing every day as I have done has done nothing to slow the clock nor has it improved my jazz dancing technique. Time travel doesn't even save us from inevitability as we must face our demise eventually. Tick-tock, time is winding down and I must accept the reality that I will never be more than a casual hand jazzer, at best. Although the act of hand jazzing and its meaning will never ever be viewed in the same light as it did prior to January 1st, 2013...at least not by this author.
Despite the clock's hastened persistence, the quest has been rewarding and became much more meaningful in ways that I could not understand back in March, aside from the lack of improvement in the physical act of hand jazzing. If nothing else, I hope you have a more thorough grasp of Rock Paper Scissors battle strategy and how to assess your next opponent. If you need a refresher course, scroll back to mid March...everything you need is there. Just remember, even the best RPS competitors must accept defeat at some point. It's inevitable.
Today's Jazz Hands deceptively throw rock.
Day three-hundred and fifty-five complete.
