365 Days of Jazz Hands - Day 281

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8th, 2013

"Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it."  - Sir Winston Churchill

Planet Earth is 4,000 miles (6,437 kilometers) in diameter, which means that "Starting Point-X" and "Destin-Y" are the same location (based on the math).  This also indicates that our aeroplane is getting closer to and farther away from the exact same place all at once.

Not only are we the architects of this tragic cycle of humanity but we are also prisoners of it.

Progress and freedom may be more closely related than originally perceived.  Perhaps they are refracted images of the same abstraction.  Or abstracted images of the same refraction.

Both apply, depending on how you perceive the world.

Repeating the same behavior over long periods of time forms habit and this repetition manifests into a physical (or psychological) reflex.

To wit:  I can practically drive my car to work every single day with my eyes closed.  With little variance to differentiate between each trip, I don't recall most of my morning commutes.  I can imagine in my head the icons associated with the routine, but their blatant familiarity has blinded me.

Reflex devoid of choice.  Inhale.

Action without conscious motive.  Exhale.

The impossibility of total freedom has rendered humanity's potential to progress improbable.

Today's Jazz Hands are doomed.

Day two-hundred and eighty-one complete.
