365 Days of Jazz Hands - Day 224

MONDAY, AUGUST 12th, 2013

If a savvy time traveler fully grasps the idea that people before his time do not embrace the concept without a fair amount of skepticism, doubting the authenticity of their time traveling claims, I would think the alleged time traveler might be cautious regarding the nature of their unorthodox travels and with whom the information is shared.

It's possible they're here now, dressed in today's fashions, blending in as best they can as to not draw unnecessary attention to themselves...only interacting with those people that they believe are trustworthy with their secret.  It would take a brave time traveler to expose themselves to the scrutiny and ridicule.

I would like for you to meet Robert Lochaven.  He is one such brave man from the not-so-distant future and the two of us have had an interesting conversation regarding the not yet.

Robert Lochaven says that our tendency to explain time travel away due to self-contradicting propositions is a paradox of logic and a naive, ignorant viewpoint.  He revealed to me that, indeed, our dear friend Pops is a time traveler and is fully aware of the vast portals in the nearby area...Pops is an intellectual, but can not communicate to the outside world, so all of that knowledge in his head stays there...locked away...untapped.

Robert Lochaven says that although my exposure to Pops will be severely limited from here on out, I can be assured that the yellow, disposable camera will at some point be returned back to me, revealing images of the future.  Robert is uncertain what those images might reveal, due to the fact that they have not been taken yet...and yes, this explanation is mind boggling, all things considered.  This is either the smartest thing anyone has ever said to me, or the dumbest...time will tell.

Robert Lochaven has many appointments to keep and are not all of this time, so our meeting was fairly brief, although he expressed an interest to return and will visit again in the future...or the past, depending on his specific travel plans on that particular day.  Apparently, time travel is exhausting and adequate napping is required between travels as he eloquently explained, then thanked me for my time and quietly faded away.

I can tell you this much, he did not appear or behave futuristic in any way.  He was no different than myself for the most part.  Perhaps change is without haste after all.

Today's Jazz Hands waved hello to a brave new friend.

Day two-hundred and twenty-four complete.
