365 Days of Jazz Hands - Day 188

SUNDAY, JULY 7th, 2013

In my opinion, there are far too many experiences that are so-called "normal."

Which is why Jazz Hands follows its own peculiar path.  Crafted in a tiny seaside village somewhere near Tampa, Jazz Hands reside in a most unlikely place.  A wondrous orchestra of an array of deployments sets the stage for this piece de rĂ©sistance; two rather unusual, yet marvelously handy infusions.

Now...take a moment and consider the cucumber.

It can be said with some scientific certainty that Jazz Hands owes its distinctive flavor to the all important cucumber.

In full disclosure, today's post is plagiarized from a Hendrick's Gin label.  For the most part, I replaced the namesake with the words "Jazz Hands" and injected a couple of minor adjustments here and there for effect.

By their own account, Hendrick's is a most unusual gin, and their product philosophy is in perfect alignment with the Royal Jazz Hands.  Oh...and it's really, really tasty.  Not so long ago I sung Bombay Sapphire Gin's praises from the rooftops, dubbing it the official gin of a drink taking the world by storm (soon), called the Palm Harbor (pronounced Pawm Hobbah).

In true hand jazzing spirit, I have looked at this matter from two sides of the same coin, and now see a better way...or at minimum an alternative perspective has been attained.

Some things to really like about Hendrick's Gin, (also plagiarized) in the event that I have piqued your interest:

It's an absurdly small batch of gin.  Considered minuscule even, and made by hand.

No other gin tastes quite like it, because no other gin is made quite like it.  Subtlety it's calling card, Hendrick's duet of strangely captivating infusions and their relative proportions are closely guarded, known only by their master stillman.

And the folks at the Hendrick's distillery have an affinity for the mighty cucumber...which is noteworthy, because cucumbers are fairly under appreciated and deserve our respect.

Today's Jazz Hands are garnished with a curious yet marvelous infusion of cucumber.

Day one-hundred and eighty-eight complete.
